Music has a way of reaching places words alone cannot. At Christmas, carols and hymns help us tell the story of Jesus’ birth through melody, memory, and shared voice — inviting hearts of all ages into worship.

Many traditional carols have been sung for centuries, carrying faith across generations. Songs such as Silent Night and O Come All Ye Faithful connect us with Christians who have sung them through times of joy, hardship, and hope, reminding us that the Christmas story continues to speak into every season of life.

Alongside these are newer hymns and songs that gently challenge us to look beyond the glitter and busyness of the season — encouraging us to reflect on the deeper meaning beneath the wrapping paper and decorations.

At the end of our service, that joy was beautifully expressed as we sang Feliz Navidad together. The children came to the front, singing and dancing with delight, filling the church with joy, movement, and celebration. It was a joyful reminder that worship can be both reverent and full of life—and that the good news of Christmas is something to be shared with gladness.

We are especially grateful to Elva, our steward, who kindly stepped in to support the service while Paul was unfortunately away following the passing of his father. Her willingness to serve ensured the service flowed smoothly and reflected the care and strength of our church community.

As we sing together, we do more than perform music — we proclaim hope, tell a story, and praise God with our whole selves.
